Carry less, travel more.
Our new Tahr Ultralite is the ultimate light weight shell jacket or outer layer. Made from SWAZI's proprietary AEGIS?? Strata fabric and weighing in at just 484 grams (size Large) or 17 ounces, you might need to remind yourself you packed it.
Designed to repel the rain and bend the wind, it's great for the weight conscious. Ideal for tahr and chamois hunting, alpine sheep or goat hunts, back country fishing trips, or a carry along for hunting Africa - runners, hikers, walkers... in fact, anytime you need to conserve weight and bulk.
The full length, anorak style is always a favourite, covering the top part of your legs and keeping more of you dry.
Featuring a fully adjustable kickass Swazi wired hood with easy to use cord stoppers, velcro and elasticated cuffs, long take, hand-warmer pockets and a waist drawcord to stop the wind coming up from below.
Hunt smarter in the new Swazi Tahr Ultralite.
Please note: These garments are made from an ultralight fabric. Care must be taken that you do not rip or puncture the membrane through excessive hard wear eg. agricultural or commercial use, spikey vegetation or in environments which may subject the fabric to be damaged. As with anything, if you look after it, it'll look after you.

The outer layer, or shell as it is sometimes known, has a big job to do. It is your best form of defence against wind, rain and snow. Choose a garment that will do all of the above, not just by fabric, but by DESIGN!
Waterproof
No matter what the weather, SWAZI Watershield shells set the benchmark in high performance wet weather gear. They're simply in a class of their own!
Your essential outer layer (shell), Swazi wet weather jackets made from the best fabrics in the world, they are also designed specifically for the job of keeping you dry. Couple with insulating mid layers and base layers, Swazi's wet weather clothing will see you right in almost any weather mother nature can throw at you.
Windproof
Windshield Outer Layers provide total all round wind protection with extra warmth and comfort for when it comes in hard and cold!
Breathable
There's no point in wearing something that keeps out the rain if it keeps in the sweat - you still get wet!
We spent 2 years perfecting AEGIS® so that we ended up with fabric that never gets wet, never let's moisture in from the outside, but lets moisture (perspiration) out. It breathes, but only in one direction.
Great looking garments with superb performance mean this range is so stylish and so comfortable you will want to wear it all of the time.
Perfect for wet and/or windy weather on the tops or out in open country.

Great jacket, almost perfect
I really like this jacket and it comes with me almost anywhere, either in the backpack or on.
For climbing tasks (with harness) the long back is not ideal, but for every thing else it covers nicely your backside and does a great job of keeping the weather out.
I would which the jacked had pit sips, especially when hiking it would be great to dump more heat, this would make it perfect.

Awesome jacket
5 foot 2 active female, went with a size Small.
Got this for tramping and haven’t been disappointed! I prefer the anorak style and had been after this one for a while as everything else just feels like I’ll overheat.
Did all day in the wild spring rain weather along 32km of exposed roads, forest tracks and 90kmh tops along the Wainui coast, stayed cosy and dry!
Took on an overnight trip into hills over the weekend and it was ace over a fleece when the wind came up. Thing to note: this isn’t one of those jackets that feels super warm, it’s a secure feeling wind and water barrier that works well with other layers for insulation.
I like the length and the cuffs, long zip is good for venting heat and the storm flap is a good and necessary addition.
Pockets are well placed and like having the option of drawstrings at the waist and the hem. I chose the stone colourway and it looks choice with my tussock Swazi fleece.
I’m really pleased I got this. I know it’s more than I’d usually pay but I took a punt and don’t regret it at all.

Better than you think
The first thing I noticed was how light this jacket is. It has way more coverage than my old Columbia garbage rain jacket and weighs less. The material feels waterproof yet somewhat breathable and the attention to detail is astounding. I like that there are cinch points at the bottom of the jacket, the waist, the collar, and the hood. Plus, the zipper goes down far enough so you can get by wearing it for a little longer as you start to heat up in the morning. This was only my first weekend really using the thing, but with a downpour and high winds, I won't think of another jacket to take with me going foward. Thanks Swazi for making awesome gear
