Swazi's Tahr XP anorak wins at UK Shooting Industry Awards

Shooting Awards

In a huge global success, Levin clothing manufacturer, Swazi Apparel, has beaten out both international and UK entries to take out first in the new clothing category at the 2017 Shooting Industry Awards.

The prestigious annual awards, held at Mercure Brandon Hall in Coventry, recognise the UK shooting industry’s achievements and innovations throughout the previous year. Entries to the award were assessed on quality, design, sales success, with an emphasis on customer recommendation and innovation.

Shooting Times editor Patrick Galbraith was one of the judges. He commented: “The Swazi Tahr XP really is the benchmark in practical wet weather gear. It’s 100% waterproof and windproof, yet remarkably light and very breathable. On a personal note, I borrowed its predecessor, the Tahr, some years ago from a keeper when I was grouse beating, and was hugely impressed. We also reckon it’s pretty stylish for a hunting garment - in a functional sort of way.”

Made in New Zealand at Swazi’s factory nestled under the Tararua Mountains, the Tahr XP is one of Swazi’s most popular designs and has proven itself a trustworthy partner in the field for hunters who need exceptional performance from their gear.

Swazi owner and designer Davey Hughes commented “One of the key notes from the judges report was the high regard for New Zealand made garments. Kiwis are still recognised globally as being not just innovators, but also manufacturers of the best gear in the world. For our staff and indeed, for the country this award represents a fantastic international achievement.”
