SENTINEL ULTRALITE JACKET

Persisting down torrential rain driven by that all powerful Wellington wind and several hours of walking becomes fun in this coat. The hood is brilliant with the peaked front and the peripheral vision is a life saver in crossing busy streets. Most hoods block off your side vision when you turn your head and that makes it hard to see that car that's about to run over you but not this one the vision remains clear. The front zip comes right up under then chin and remains comfortable and the only downside is the wrist cuff stitching isn't taped so it lets the water in on the inner layer cuffs and into the inside of short cuff gloves. Not a big deal though, it handles the pouring rain out in the open in the windiest city in the world so it'll handle anything. I bought a size up to allow for extra layers

Wets out fast which brings it down a star. Comfy to wear, very breathable. Wore for 9 days in Fiordland and kept me dry in a blizzard up the Nevis. Will be a staple bit of kit for me from now.

Looking forward to using in the rain. Good fit over body, doesnt want to be any shorter in the arm.

Well what can I say awesome jacket .in UK Used hiking on costal path uk stood up well as both waterproof in very heavy rain and good wind cheater layer against bitter NE wind. Packs down well into hood and super lightweight. Took as layer to travel in to Caribbean and blow me used fir when caught up in hurricane Rafeal and kept me blown dry in heavy heavy rain and despite the heat and humidity of 30 C good breathability.

This is a very comfortable jacket, with excellent additional length in the back that is really useful for those of us who mostly hike in shorts and don't want to wear overtrousers all the time. I The two generous outside pockets, which are fully lined, are covered over when I am wearing my pack's waist belt. There is a good inside pocket as well and the hood seems to be well designed for heavy rain. It'd describe the weight as somewhere between heavy duty and genuinely light weight in hiking raincoat terms. That suits me because the very lightweight jackets tend to have a very short life.
