It’s fair to say that you learn to layer as you learn to hunt. Putting it simply, being under or overdressed in the field is no fun.

You need to be warm before dawn then start delaminating as the sun warms you – or slogging uphill does the same job. Then, whatever you take off needs to be light enough to carry for the rest of the hunt.

That’s where the Brocco shirt comes into its own. This fleece hoodie is warm but light. It can be your base layer in winter or top-off a Tee in summer. And that hood’s just right to go over a cap or a beanie.

Mid-layer that lives up to its reputation

Great mid-layer. I just completed the Milford track, and once the rain jacket stopped performing after 130mm of rain, the Brocco mid-layer kept me toasty warm even in the wet.
