I will start by saying I use this for walking in the hills unlike 99.999% of people who buy it. Swazi do not market it as a coat designed for this.

This is a very good coat. It is well made. It's a good length giving great overlap with water proof trousers. The material is good. The coat is good at keeping the wind and rain at bay. It is also surprisingly light.

The zip is sensibly big so that you can hold it and close it with cold hands. There is a very good flap that closes over the zip to keep the elements out. There are also stud fasteners down the front to keep the coat closed in the worst of weathers.

The coat has good size velcro strips in front of your chin and mouth to keep the this area closed plus the zip and over lapping flap. I feel a stud fastening here at the top would be beneficial in very windy conditions. Probably only necessary on the heights in very windy weather but that's my observation. The side pockets are a good size but the flaps on the pockets need to be redesigned. The flaps have one deep side with a stud fastening tapering to a shallow side that is sewn directly to the coat. It is not that good at keeping the rain out in bad conditions. The pockets need a deep flap with stud fasteners on both sides. The current flap with the side sewn directly to the coat will over time put a strain on the stitching especially if you put your hat in and take it out a couple of times depending on the weather.
